Who we are

Kogito is a learning platform for Primary and Secondary students. It is run by Kogito Online (“Kogito”, “we”). If you have any question about this policy or your information, email us at only2kogito@gmail.com.

Kogito is for families

Only parents and guardians aged 18 or over can create an account. Children use Kogito through their parent’s account, as “learners”. Learners don’t have logins, email addresses or contact details of their own, and a parent PIN keeps them inside their own learning.

What we collect

About you, the parent:

  • Your name, email address and mobile number.
  • Your confirmation that you are 18 or over.
  • Your password, which our sign-in provider stores securely and we never see. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google and nothing else from your Google account.
  • Your parent PIN, which we store only in a form that can’t be turned back into the PIN.

About each learner you add: a name (a first name is enough), year of birth, board (curriculum) and grade. We don’t ask for a learner’s full date of birth, photo, school or location.

About learning: as lessons, worksheets and quizzes become available, we keep which lessons were opened, answers and scores, so you can follow progress.

If you share your Kogito story: your words, your name, an email address or mobile number, and a photo if you add one. We show your words, name and photo on kogito.online only if you agree when you send them. Your email address or mobile number is never shown; we use it only to reply.

Technical information: small cookies that keep you signed in and remember preferences such as a collapsed menu. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting providers keep standard logs, such as IP address and browser type, to run the service securely.

How we use it

  • To run your account and each learner’s learning.
  • To match lessons and practice to each learner’s board and grade.
  • To show you each learner’s progress.
  • To send account emails, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password.
  • To keep Kogito secure and prevent misuse.

We don’t sell personal information, we don’t show advertising, and we never use learners’ information for marketing.

Who helps us run Kogito

We use a small number of service providers, who process information only on our instructions:

  • Supabase: database and sign-in. Your information is stored in Singapore.
  • Vercel: hosting the Kogito website.
  • Resend: sending account emails.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Cloudflare: routing traffic to kogito.online.
  • Vercel AI Gateway and Anthropic: an automatic check of a shared story before it appears on kogito.online. It sees only your words and name, never your contact details or photo.

We’ll update this list before adding any new provider that handles your information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. Archived learners are kept, with their progress, until you ask us to delete them. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your information and your learners’ information within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.

Your choices

  • You can see and correct your learners’ details at any time in Kogito.
  • You can archive a learner at any time.
  • You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account, by emailing only2kogito@gmail.com.
  • You can ask us to take down a story you shared at any time, by emailing only2kogito@gmail.com.

Keeping information safe

Information is encrypted in transit. Each family can see only its own information, which the database itself enforces. Parent PINs are never stored as plain text, and repeated wrong PIN entries are paused.

Children

Kogito is designed for children to use under a parent’s account and supervision. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent’s involvement, contact us at only2kogito@gmail.com and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we’ll tell you by email before it takes effect.
